Use Your Insurance Before The Clock Runs Out | Saticoy Plaza Dentistry

As we near the end of the year, we have all sorts of things going on in our lives! Holiday get-togethers, traveling, work responsibilities, you name it. One of the last things that may come to mind on the end of the year to-do list, is making a visit to your dentist.

Make sure you use your dental insurance to its fullest, by using up any remaining benefits before the end of the year.  At the end of each year your dental insurance completely resets, and any unused benefits will be lost for good.

Preventative Appointments

Most dental insurances offer at least two preventative appointments per year at 100% coverage. This includes cleanings, exams, and x-rays. Have you visited your dentist at least two times this year for check-ups? If not, be sure to make an appointment so you don’t waste these free insurance benefits!

Deductibles

Most dental insurance plans require you to pay money towards your deductible. A deductible is the amount of money you must pay, before you begin to receive coverage for dental treatment. Any money you put towards your deductible, will reset to zero at the end of the year. So if you delay your dental treatment to the next year, you may be wasting money since you will have to pay for your deductible again.

Yearly Maximums

Dental insurances also have annual coverage maximums. They only cover you for treatment up to a certain amount of money, your maximum, each year. So it’s important to take advantage and complete as much pending treatment as possible, before the year is up. Otherwise, your annual coverage will reset and those benefits will go to waste.

Feel free to make your end of the year appointment with us here at Saticoy Plaza Dentistry. We will take the time to discuss specific information about your dental insurance coverage, and how we can help you maximize your dental benefits and save money.
